IPL 2008 Season 1 Winner Team Rajasthan Royals & Runner Up Team Detail Information

The very first season of Indian Premier League (IPL) was starts in 2008 and it was established by the BCCI in 2007. The first season of IPL was schedule from 18th April 2008. The first season hosted in India and total 8 teams participated in IPL Season 1 which names are as follows:

  2. Kings XI Punjab
  3. Chennai Super Kings
  4. Delhi Daredevils
  5. Mumbai Indians
  6. Kolkata Knight Riders
  7. Royal Challengers Bangalore
  8. Deccan Chargers

The competition started with a double round robin group stage, in which each of the 8 teams played a home match and an away match against every other team. These matches were followed by two semi-finals and a final.

The final match was played on 1st June 2008 between Rajasthan Royals & Chennai Super Kingsthe match went down to last ball where Rajasthan Royals defeated Chennai Super Kings to win the title of first IPL. Yusuf Pathan becomes the player of the match and Shane Watson adjudged the player of the tournament. Below are the detail score summary and other important facts.
